In 2019, as Union Minister of Textiles, I launched the transformative Eri Silk Development for Women Empowerment (ESDWE) project in Chungtia village, Nagaland.

This initiative, coordinated by @CmertiCsb and sponsored by @TexMinIndia, empowered over 500 women farmers—equipping them with skills, tools, and market access. Together, we transformed the art of Eri silk into a source of sustainable livelihoods.

Today, I was deeply moved when a young IAS officer from Chungtia presented me with a shawl woven by these inspiring women. Draping it was a humbling moment—a testament to their resilience and the enduring power of Seva.

My heartfelt gratitude to the incredible women of Chungtia. May your looms continue to weave stories of hope and empowerment for generations to come!
