Pullumedu Hill in Idukki
Pullumedu is yet another hidden gem enhancing Idukki’s repertoire, with hills draped in green greeting you on your journey up as the majestic Periyar river accompanies you the entire way. Apart from the natural view, one also gets glimpses of the Sree Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala and the Makara Jyothi illuminations at the shrine. On site, picnickers and trekkers will get every single camp site and trail that they can imagine, with newer areas coming to light on every visit. The area can only be reached via jeep. Since it is part of the restricted forest zone, special permission to visit has to be obtained from the Wildlife Preservation Officer, Thekkady, or The Range Officer, Vallakkadavu.
