📍 Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai
Honoured to address industry leaders at #MEWAGlobalExpo2025, hosted by the Nuts & Dry Fruits Council of India (
@Ndfc_ind).
With a ₹55,000 crore+ market size in India , the global nuts & dry fruits industry is undergoing a rapid transformation—driven by rising health-conscious consumption, expanding international trade, and value-added processing. India is central to this shift, both as a key consumer and a growing export force.
Yet, one untapped economic driver remains—women’s participation in leadership, trade, and decision-making. Despite their presence in supply chains, women are underrepresented in high-value segments such as global trade, financing, and enterprise ownership. This is not just an inclusion issue—it’s an economic imperative.
As global trade moves towards sustainability, digitalisation, and advanced market integration, the sector must prioritise structural inclusion for greater resilience and long-term competitiveness. A welcome step in this direction:
@Ndfc_ind has launched a Women’s Committee to foster diversity, leadership, and entrepreneurship in the sector.
Industries that embrace inclusive growth will define the future of trade. The nuts & dry fruits sector must seize this opportunity to position India as a leader in value-driven, equitable commerce.
