An intricate and detailed 'Sheshshayi Vishnu' sculpture has been unearthed during excavation conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Sindkhed Raja town, located in Maharashtra's Buldhana district. It was found at a depth of 2.25 metres when a team of experts, during the conservation work of Lakhuji Jadhavrao’s Chhatri, spotted some stone alignments and then reached a temple base on further digging.

It is made up of a chlorite schist rock. Such sculptures were carved in south India (Hoysalas). It is of Vishnu reclining on Shesha Naga and goddess Laxmi massaging his feet while sitting on a cushion. Samudramanthana is depicted in this sculpture and jewels of Samudramanthana like Ashwa, Airavat are also seen on the panel.

Lakhujirao Jadhav was the maternal grandfather of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The king of Karnavati from Gujarat, Rana Vir Singh Vaghela, whose kingdom had suffered many Ottoman attacks, but none got success, Sultan Beghara attacked the Patan kingdom in 1497 with an aim to capture Rani Ruda Bai who was known for her beauty. The invader army of more than 40000 was unable to last more than 2 hours, which led Sultan Beghara to run for his life.

Sultan attacked again after some time and challenged the King of Patan.
This time in battle, Rana Veer Singh Vaghela was defeated by the Sultan with deceit.
