Tata Group is in talks to acquire a majority stake in the Indian unit of Chinese smartphone maker Vivo in its operations, including manufacturing and distribution.
The discussions have reached an advanced stage where talks began around valuations. Vivo has been seeking a higher valuation than what Tatas are offering. The Tatas are interested in the deal, but nothing has been finalised yet.
Tata is already making Apple's iPhone and now this news, now if Tata launches its own smartphone brand in the near future then it will surely give a tough competition to its competitors.
