The Qualcomm NoviSpy scandal explained in brief!
Recently a zero-day bug was marked in Qualcomm by Google Project Zero in October (it received a patch in November.) with code CVE-2024-43047.
Seems fine, no? Well, the Serbian government deployed a spyware named NoviSpy which utilises this exploit and targets many people including journalists, human rights activists and government dissidents.
It is said that NoviSpy was installed on many devices over the last few years. The number may range in hundreds.
The spyware works by communicating with BIA servers while configuration data links to a specific person.
This is just bad for Qualcomm, honestly.
