Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reaffirmed the government's commitment to capital expenditure (capex) due to its multiplier effect on economic growth.

👉 Budget Estimates for FY26:
- Capex set at ₹11.21 lakh crore
- FY25 revised estimate lowered to ₹10.81 lakh crore (from the initial ₹11.11 lakh crore)

👉 Shift in Spending Strategy:

- Moving from direct government spending to Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)
- Increased focus on reforms, urban development, and economic acceleration

🚄 What will be the impact of new app swarail on IRCTC ?

The Indian Railways has introduced SwaRail, a comprehensive 'Super App' developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), aiming to integrate various railway services into a single platform. This initiative is designed to enhance user experience by consolidating functionalities such as reserved and unreserved ticket bookings, train inquiries, real-time tracking, and food ordering.

Impact on IRCTC:

👉 Integration and Collaboration: Rather than replacing the existing IRCTC platforms, SwaRail is expected to work in conjunction with them. Integration efforts between the planned super app and IRCTC are currently underway, ensuring that IRCTC continues to serve as the interface between CRIS and passengers purchasing train tickets. 🔥

👉 Enhanced Revenue Streams: Officials view the super app as a new revenue stream, as IRCTC holds a dominant position in the online ticketing market. In the fiscal year 2023-24, IRCTC processed 453 million bookings, contributing significantly to its revenue. 🔥

👉 Improved User Experience: By consolidating multiple services into a single platform, SwaRail aims to provide a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for passengers, potentially increasing user engagement and satisfaction.
