Luigi Mangione, suspect of UnitedHealth CEO killing, arrives at court for arraignment
The suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, identified by police as Luigi Mangione, 26, arrived at the Blair County Courthouse in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on Monday (December 9) for his preliminary arraignment.
Mangione was transported to the courthouse in handcuffs, guarded by police, following his arrest in Altoona. Gun and forgery charges were read against him. The judge asked Mangione if he understood the charges against him, and he said he did. No plea was entered.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the details surrounding the high-profile case.
Prosecutors, citing false IDs and a large sum of cash that were found on Mangione, argued he was a flight risk and asked that bail be denied, which it was. Several electronic devices were also found with the suspect, and they were being examined by police.
