CELEBRATING THE NIGHT OF THE ISRĀ’ WAL MI'RĀJ.
So are you saying to Allaah and HIS messenger ﷺ
“ you don't know so let me add a little on my own in religion? ”
◾ What is Isrā' Wal mi'rāj?
Isrā’ - the night journey
Wal - and
mi'rāj - the ascending to heaven
Proof :
Al-Isra' 17:1
Exalted is HE who took HIS Servant [i.e., Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ] by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa,
Now, There is no doubt that the isrā’ wal mi'raj are two great signs of Allaah.
◾ Which date / month it happened?
With regard to this night on which the Isra’ and Mi’raaj took place,
there is nothing in the saheeh ahaadeeth to indicate that it is in Rajab or in any other month
Whatever the people says it's not correct, cus we do NOT know When it took placed exactly!
◾Can one celebrate it?
it is NOT permissible for us to celebrate it,
because the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions (رضي الله عنهم ) did not celebrate it and they did not single it out in any way.
If celebrating it was something that is prescribed in Islam,
the Messenger would have told his ummah about that, either in word or in deed.
If celebrating this night had been prescribed in Islam, they would have been done
Since no such thing happened, it is known that celebrating it and venerating it is not part of Islam at all.
Allaah has perfected this ummah’s religion for it and has completed HIS favour upon them, and HE condemns those who introduce things into the religion which Allaah has not ordained.
Allaah says:
⬇️
Al-Ma'idah 5:3
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you IsLam as religion.
Evidence from Hadith ⬇️
Aa’ishah (رضي الله عنها ) that the Prophet (ﷺ ) said:
“Whoever introduces anything into this matter of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected.”
Fasting on this day
Fasting on the day which one believes to be the day of the Mi’raaj is not permissible, and comes under the *heading of bid’ah.*
◾NOTHING IS PRESCRIBED, NOTHING VIRTUES ARE THERE.
DO NOT INNOVATE IN RELIGION!
