The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has dismissed a Canadian media report alleging that PM Modi 'knew' about the Nijjar plot as "ludicrous".

💬 “Smear campaigns like this only further damage our already strained ties,” the MEA warned.

Khalistan radical group leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed in June 2023. Both US and Canada has accused the Indian gov't and namely Home Minister Amit Shah of being involved into an alleged plot against Nijjar, although no tentative evidence has been made public.

“This indictment alleges schemes to pay over $250 million in bribes to Indian government officials, to lie to investors and banks to raise billions of dollars, and to obstruct justice,” stated Deputy Assistant Attorney General Miller.
