Rohtang Pass

▪️It is a high mountain pass on the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas around 51 km from Manali.

▪️ Elevation : 13,058 ft

▪️It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh.

▪️The pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas basins.

▪️ Atal Tunnel has been excavated and will become operational in 2019. It will obviate the need to travel through Rohtang Pass. While it now takes 4 to 6 hours to ascend, negotiate and descend the Rohtang Pass, it will take only about 30 minutes to travel through the Atal Tunnel.

▪️ Guru Shikhar, a peak in the Arbuda Mountains of Rajasthan, is the highest point of the Aravalli Range

▪️ Elevation : 5650 ft

▪️ It is named Guru-Shikhar or 'the peak of the guru' after Dattatreya, an incarnation of Vishnu, and a cave at the summit contains a temple dedicated to him, plus one dedicated his mother, Anasuya, wife of sage Atri nearby.

▪️ Lipulekh is a Himalayan pass on the border between India's Uttarakhand state and the Tibet region of China, near their trijunction with Nepal.

▪️ Elevation : 17060 ft

▪️ Nepal has ongoing claims to the southern side of the pass, called Kalapani territory, which is controlled by India.

▪️ It is also used by pilgrims to Kailas and Manasarovar.
