The United States is working to establish a three-way deconfliction mechanism between Syria, Turkey and Israel aimed at preventing accidental military clashes and managing rising tensions inside Syria, U.S. envoy Tom Barrack says.
The initiative comes after Israel's strike on Abu al-Duhur airbase, which sharply increased tensions with Turkey over Ankara's growing military role in Syria.
Separately, Syrian and Israeli officials held U.S.-mediated talks in Jordan on August 23 to discuss de-escalation and the revival of security negotiations.
