still exists. If you haven't changed your number in a while and your session gets hijacked, a hacker without 2FA can just waltz right in and steal your account.

Power: Unlimited, they say? Well, technically yes, but there's that less than 1-million-message limit in chats, after which your old messages are simply deleted archived, which is of no real use to anybody.
