🎯Speaker is the Presiding Officer of the Lok Sabha (Article 93) or Legislative Assembly (Article 178).
🎯The Speaker is elected from among the members of the Lok Sabha / Assembly by a simple majority of all MPs/MLAs.
🎯Article 179: Speaker has to vacate office if she ceases to be the member of the House.
🎯Whenever thee Lok Sabha or Assembly is dissolved Speaker shall not vacate his office immediately before the first meeting of newly elected Lok Sabha or Assembly Any MP or MLA can be nominated as a speaker, however the candidate of the ruling party or the party with the majority usually secures this position (Also a convention).
