ABOUT THE COURSE:
A strong foundation in Sanskrit is key to accessing the extensive primary sources of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), which the National Education Policy (NEP) aims to include in education. Following the "Introduction to Basic Spoken Sanskrit" and "Intermediate Level of Spoken Sanskrit" courses, this "Advanced Level of Spoken Sanskrit" course deepens understanding of Sanskrit as a living language, enhances appreciation of its literary heritage, and boosts confidence in exploring its resources. It is designed for students with intermediate knowledge of Sanskrit, improving language acquisition skills and critical thinking.
PRE-REQUISITE: Intermediate knowledge of Sanskrit or completion of the Intermediate Level of Spoken Sanskrit course.
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Relevant for students from various disciplines, including science, technology, computer sciences, humanities, and social sciences.
Course Details:
The course is free to enroll in and learn from. However, if you want a certificate, you must register and take the proctored exam conducted in person at one of the designated exam centers. The exam is optional and has a fee of ₹ 1000
Date and Time of Exams: March 23, 2025
Morning session: 9 AM to 12 Noon
Afternoon session: 2 PM to 5 PM.
Instructor Bio
Dr. Anuradha Choudry is an Assistant Professor at IIT Kharagpur, specializing in Sanskrit, Yoga, and Indian Psychology. She received the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in 2007 for her Master's in European Humanities. She has taught Sanskrit at Ghent University and offers courses in Yoga Psychology globally. Dr. Choudry has also organized various workshops and conferences in India and abroad.
