तुंगनाथ भगवान शिव को समर्पित मंदिर है। ये दुनिया के सबसे ऊंचे शिव मंदिरों में से एक है। तुंगनाथ मंदिर, जो 3640 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर बना हुआ है और पंच केदारों (तुंगनाथ, केदारनाथ,मध्य महेश्वर, रुद्रनाथ और कल्पेश्वर) में सबसे ऊँचाई पर स्थित है। यह मंदिर १,००० वर्ष पुराना माना जाता है और यहाँ भगवान शिव की पंच केदारों में से एक के रूप में पूजा होती है। तुंगनाथ की चोटी तीन धाराओं का स्रोत है, जिनसे अक्षकामिनी नदी बनती है।

मंदिर के निर्माण के बारे में कहा जाता है कि इसे पाण्‍डवों ने भगवान शिव को प्रसन्‍न करने के लिए स्‍थापित किया था जो कुरुक्षेत्र में हुए नरसंहार के कारण पाण्डवों से रुष्ट थे। इसके अलावा यह भी मान्‍यता है कि माता पार्वती ने भी भगवान शिव को पति रूप में प्राप्त करने के लिए यहीं पर तपस्‍या की थी। कहते हैं कि यहां बैल के रूप में भगवान शिव के हाथ दिखाई दिए थे, जिसके बाद पांडवों ने तुंगनाथ मंदिर का निर्माण करवाया था। मंदिर का नाम 'तुंग' है, जिसका मतलब हाथ और 'नाथ' भगवान शिव के प्रतीक के रूप में लिया गया है। कहा ये भी जाता है कि रावण ने भगवान श‍िव को प्रसन्‍न करने के ल‍िए इसी जगह पर तपस्या की थी। इसके अलावा भगवान राम ने रावण के वध के बाद खुद को ब्राह्मण हत्या के शाप से मुक्त करने के लिए उन्होंने इस जगह पर श‍िवजी की तपस्या की थी।

#35 🛕🚩Veerabhadra Temple Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh.🛕🚩

The temple is dedicated to the Virabhadra, a fierce form of the god Shiva.The temple is of the Vijayanagara architectural style. According to Skanda Purana, the temple is one of the Divyakshetras, an important pilgrimage site of Lord Shiva.

The temple was built in 1530 AD by Virupanna Nayaka and Viranna, both brothers who were Governors under the Vijayanagar Empire during the reign of King Achyuta Deva Raya.

The Shiva linga here adorned with three-coiled and seven-hooded naga prabhavali. The naga prabhavali forms a sheltering canopy over the Shiva linga made of black granite. This beautiful monolithic sculpture is 15 feet tall, the biggest in India. The entire structure stands on a raised platform making you feel tiny in front of it.

There is a very large Nandi, mount of Shiva, about 200 metres (660 ft) away from the temple which is carved from a single block of stone, which is said to be one of the largest of its type in the world.

The apparently "hanging pillar" is yet another attraction in the temple. There is a gap between the base of the pillar and ground through which cloth and paper can be passed.

#34 🛕🚩Ramanarayanam Temple Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.🛕🚩

There is a temple of Mahavishnu on the ground floor and a temple of Lord Shri Ram on the upper floor. There is a 60 feet high statue of Hanuman ji on the front part of the arrow, which can be seen even from a kilometer away.

The temple was constructed by NCS Charitable Trust over 15 acres area based on Ramayana and temple which is designed like a Bow and arrow shape.

The entire story and history of Ramayanam was designed in the form of sculptures and idols. BaalaKaanda, Aranya Kanda, the episode of Lakshmana chopping nose and ears of Surpanakha, golden deer, every episode of Ramayanam is depicted by these colourful idols.

The temple is well connected with Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam, Visakhapatnam Airport is 50km distance and upcoming green field Bhogapuram Airport is 15 km.
