RBI Cuts Repo Rate for the First Time in Nearly 5 Years to Boost the Economy
Repo Rate cut by 25 bps to 6.25%

In a widely anticipated move, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a 25 basis point (bps) reduction in the repo rate, bringing it down to 6.25%. This marks the first rate cut by the central bank in nearly five years, aimed at stimulating economic growth.

The decision was made during the RBI's latest Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, which was led by Governor Sanjay Malhotra.

Alongside the rate cut, the central bank has revised its economic growth projection for FY26, increasing it from 6.6% to 6.7%. Additionally, the RBI has projected inflation to be at 4.2% for the same period.

Zomato board approves the company's name change from Zomato to Eternal

The company's stock ticker will be updated from 'Zomato' to 'Eternal'


Zomato has officially rebranded as Eternal Ltd, reflecting its expansion beyond food delivery. The name change was announced in an exchange filing on Thursday.

Group CEO and Co-founder Deepinder Goyal explained that the name "Eternal" was initially used internally after acquiring Blinkit. Now, with Blinkit playing a major role in the company's growth, the transition has been made official. While the Zomato app will keep its name, the company's stock ticker will change to 'Eternal'. The rebranded Eternal Ltd will oversee four key businesses:

Zomato - Food delivery & restaurant discovery

Blinkit - Quick-commerce platform

Hyperpure - B2B restaurant supplies

District - Logistics business
