Microsoft is using AI to improve Windows search
Microsoft is introducing AI-powered upgrades to Windows search on its new Copilot Plus PCs starting in November. These improvements will include a natural language search capability in File Explorer, allowing users to find files like images, documents, and emails without needing to know the exact file names.
Additionally, AI will enhance searches across Windows and Settings, while a new "Click to Do" feature, similar to Google's "Circle to Search," will let users select images or text for quick actions like searching or editing.
These AI features will rely on local NPU chips for offline searches and will be tested with Windows Insiders beginning in October.
