As Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday, a member of the U.S. delegation walked out of the chamber.
Pezeshkian accused the United States and Israel of aggression against Iran, while insisting that Tehran had acted in self-defense. He also said Iran remained open to diplomacy but would not "surrender" in the ongoing conflict.
The Israeli delegation was also absent from the chamber during Pezeshkian's address. The walkout came a day after Iran's delegation had walked out during U.S. President Donald Trump's UN speech.
The exchanges highlight the deep diplomatic divide between Washington, Jerusalem and Tehran as tensions remain focused on the wider conflict and the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
