Kurumbalakotta Mala

Kurumbalakotta (Malayalam: കുറുമ്പാലക്കോട്ട) is a hill in Padinjarathara of Wayanad district, Kerala. It is a monolith hillock in Kerala. It rises to 991 m (3251.31234 feet) above sea level. It is situated in the centre of Wayanad and also a part of Deccan plateau and the confluence of Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats. From the hill top, one can see the full scenery of Wayanad plateau. Misty mountains and valleys around the hill gives a pleasant atmosphere for trekkers.

The hill is located in Padinjarathara Panchayth of Vythiri Taluk Wayanad district. Venniyode is the nearby small town. Tourists may reach by road from Kalpetta through Kamblakkad junction.

Kuttampuzha

Kuttampuzha, a typical Kerala town in Ernakulam. The bulk of its population is engaged in agriculture and other related activities. Two rivers namely Pooyamkutty and Edamalayar converge at the village. The village air carries the fragrance of the untouched essence of Kerala, still miles away from commercialization. One must come and visit and soak up the soil, the wind and the rivers in its rawness, to know the authentic feel. It is a must-see place in Kochi.

Kuttampuzha is located approximately 30 km from Cochin airport. While railway station Aluva is 40 km away. If you are traveling from Kochi to Kuttampuzha by bus, the route will pass through Kothamnagalam and will be around 60 km long. Look for buses that go to places such as Thattekkad, Pooyamkutty or Kuttampuzha. The nearby tourist destination Thattekkad Bird sanctuary seriously overshadows Kuttampuzha. Thattekkad is certainly a paradise for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts but in terms of natural beauty, Kuttampuzha which is only 7 km away is no less than Thattekkad.

Bonacaud Bungalow – Real Ghost Stories

If real ghost stories are to be believed then, Bonacaud Bungalow is one of the most haunted houses in Kerala. After darkness falls, this ramshackle mansion becomes an absolute horrid place and thus, counted among the creepiest places in Kerala.

*The Story:* During British rule, the bungalow was famous for its sprawling tea plantations. It is said that on one fateful night the young children of the owner died under mysterious circumstances. After this incident, the couple went back to London.
