Subject: Urgent Grievance Regarding Illegal Advertisement Posters on Government Electric Transformer
Date: 23rd Dec 2024
Dear Public Servant,
I am writing to bring to your attention an issue concerning the illegal posting of advertisement posters on a government electric transformer located Opposite to karnataka Bank ATM near Honda Bike showroom in Hebbal 2nd Stage Main Road, Madegowda circle, mysuru -570017. I have attached a photograph of the advertisement posters for your reference.
The placement of these posters on public property is not only unsightly but also constitutes a violation of several government acts in India. According to the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984, any act that defaces or damages public property, including government electric transformers, is illegal and punishable by law. Section 3 of the Act specifically addresses the penalties for causing damage to public property.
Electricity Act, 2003:This act governs the operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure. Tampering with or obstructing electrical equipment is a serious offense under this act.
Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976: This act prohibits unauthorized display of advertisements in public places.
Furthermore, the advertisement posters may pose a safety risk by potentially interfering with the maintenance and operation of the transformer. This could lead to disruptions in the electricity supply and pose a danger to the public.
I urge you to take immediate action to remove these illegal posters and to prevent any further unauthorized postings. Additionally, measures should be implemented to hold the responsible parties accountable for violating the law and to ensure the preservation of public property.
I have attached a photograph of the transformer with the illegally pasted advertisement posters for your reference.
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your swift action in resolving this issue.
Important Note:
Whistleblower Protection:
1. I demand that my identity be kept confidential to the full extent possible under the Whistleblower Protection Act 2014. Disclosing a whistleblower's identity could fall under Section 19 of the Act and Section 218 of IPC or BNS.
