US President Joe Biden has revised the 2019 sanctions order imposed by former President Donald Trump, removing references to Turkey. The White House clarified that issues related to Turkey's military operations in Syria are no longer considered relevant.

The updated order retains provisions to impose sanctions on individuals who threaten Syria's peace, security, and territorial integrity or commit serious human rights violations.

In 2019, sanctions were imposed on Turkey in response to Operation Peace Spring in northern Syria, targeting Turkey's Defense and Energy Ministries and officials, including former Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.
